What you need
Yes. Once a till has loaded your products, it keeps selling with no connection. Sales are saved on the device and sent to your dashboard automatically when the internet comes back. M-Pesa payment prompts need a connection; when offline, cashiers can type in the M-Pesa code and it's marked for you to check.
Any Android phone, tablet or computer with Chrome. A USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner and a 58mm Bluetooth receipt printer are optional, and the ones sold in most electronics shops work.
You connect your own till number or paybill from Safaricom's Daraja portal. The till can then send a payment prompt to the customer's phone, or show payments made to your till as they arrive. Either way the money goes straight to you; we never touch it.
